TIVAR® 88 is a dark blue, shiny and slippery plastic specifically developed to facilitate the unloading of bulk materials. It’s an ideal solution for demanding applications, as it’s highly resistant to wear, impacts and corrosion.
TIVAR® 88 also possesses a very low coefficient of friction, which facilitates conveyance, while reducing vibrations and, consequently, noise generated by transportation.
Applications of TIVAR® 88
1. Snowplow bucket liners
- Prevents material from sticking to the surface of the shovel
- Speeds up the unloading process
- Protects the metal surface of the shovel
- Increases the service life of the equipment
2. Snowplow blades
- Reduces wear
- Protects contact surfaces
- Reduces noise caused by contact with surfaces
- Prevents the shovel from scraping directly onto surfaces
- Increases the service life of the equipment
3. Chute (Hopper)
- Enables uniform flow of bulk material
- Reduces material clogging
- Increases conveyance flow
- Protects the surface on which it's installed
- Protects and increases the service life of the equipment
4. Hopper liners
- Enables uniform flow of bulk material
- Reduces material clogging
- Increases flow velocity
- Protects and increases the service life of the equipment
- Reduces noise
5. Conveyor liners
- Allows for a more uniform flow of bulk material
- Reduces material clogging
- Increases flow velocity
- Protects and increases the service life of the equipment
- Reduces noise caused by impacts
CASE STUDY #1 : TIVAR® 88 to reduce the frequency of maintenance
Problem | Solution | Benefits |
The existing hopper was quickly wearing out, hindering productivity. The Hopper had to be replaced immediately upon breakage. |
The original liner was replaced with one made of TIVAR® 88, providing a surface with superior wear resistance and improving the flow of raw material. |
By improving the flow of raw material, the TIVAR® 88 liner increased production speed while reducing maintenance time. |
CASE STUDY #2 : TIVAR® 88 for bulk handling
Problem | Solution | Bénéfices |
The flow of bulk material travelling on conveyors generated high noise levels. |
Conveyor surfaces were fitted with TIVAR® 88 liners to absorb impacts. |
By absorbing impacts, the TIVAR® 88 liners considerably reduced noise levels. They also facilitated material transportation thanks to their low coefficient of friction. |
Overall, TIVAR® 88 offers a durable and highly effective solution for very demanding applications. Moreover, this high-performance plastic is easily machinable and also easy to weld (TIVAR® 88-2).
